Our final assignment - A networked, mutiplayer tabletop game.
You’re to take the table-top gameyour team designed in the 1st semester and create a fullyrealized networked version for the PC. All adaptations are expected to be turn-based in nature, reducing the complexityof the networking, to ensure a more robust experience. As the game has already beenbattle-hardened through its design and play-test sessions, it should already be balanced and the team will have an intrinsic understanding of what workswell and what doesn’t. You are free to alter and iterate on the mechanics to help improve the game’s design, but its high-concept should remain in tack. You will need to consider how the game mechanics will translate to the digital realm and also adjustaccordingly.
As the breif above stated I already had made a tabletop game in a seperate module. This tabletop game is called “Land Of Gold” and is a high-fantasy resource management game. In this game up to 4 players are given a fantasy animal which they farm:
Each round players farm their creature to gain produce. However, they must also give in a minimum amount to the bank for which they get money in exchange. Players can also choose attack another player using their creatures and a dice rollng , risk-like combat system in order to take that player’s produce. If the player succeeds they can draw from a deck of cards that can increase different values such as the amount of produce they get each turn or just a large pool of produce. However, doing so not only costs money but also reduces the player’s creature’s happiness which can be used in combat by player’s to re-roll dice. There is also another deck which has:

When making the original game , one of biggest issues with the original was that everything happened every turn. Players would get their produce for the turn and then give most of it to the bank straight away - the game just became counting money and produce. Another big issue was there wan’t enough interaction between players which was somewhat fixed with a combat and bidding system but not enough. To fix both of these problems I will add a board that player’s moved around with different tiles having different effects such as getting produce. Each player would have their own tile which when another player lands would give the ownling player produce and then get money from the bank in exchange. This increases intraction between players.
